chris here with realme's new release  this is the gt neo 3 the 150 watt version  

so 150 watt charging that is blazing quick and it  is the fastest that i've tested out in a phone to  

date only about 15 sometimes 14 minutes to  fully charge the 5000 milliamp hour battery  

is impressive but the other thing i'm really  impressed with is mediatek's demensity 8100 that  

is powering this phone right here so the model  that really sent out to me this is a review unit  

does have 12 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes  of ufs 3.1 storage the main camera has optical  

image stabilization it's 50 megapixels with  an f 1.9 aperture we do have with this dual  

loudspeakers in screen fingerprint reader a 6.7  inch screen which is an amoled 120 hertz those  

are the key specs there but let's find out why i'm  so impressed with the gt neo 350 watt version here  

included with the phone you'll find some paperwork  and a sim tray tool we have our charger which is  

large it's a type c charger 150 watts then  i'll type c to type c cable and a tpu case  

high quality one in a smoky gray color the  phone weighs 188 grams and the thickness  

of it is 8.2 millimeters measuring here so on the  left side we have our volume up and down buttons  

which is separate and then our power button here  on the right side power button location i like  

i think it's in a good place but the fingerprint  reader is really low down here i really wish they  

put it here but that fingerprint reader let me  do that again is very good i find it to be fast  

it's accurate and look at how quick it unlocks  so it is a amoled screen 1 billion colors 120  

hertz hdr 10 plus and 6.7 inches full hd plus  resolution covered with gorilla glass 5. there  

is a cutout here for our front facing camera the  whole punch dial and that houses a 16 megapixel  

f 2.5 camera which is a 26 millimeter wide lens  now i really like this color that they've gone  

with it's a purple almost blue depending on  the way you look at it the way the light shines  

off it we've got these racing stripes on it and  then our deer to leap with the real me right  

there now at least the deer to leap small not like  some of the other phones that had it huge across  

the back which to me was a bit of an eyesore now  we do have some text here and the ce they have  

to use this for the global models unfortunately  but you'll see with the chinese edition that they  

don't actually have all that writing which is a  bit of a shame there so with our cameras the main  

camera has optical image stabilization which is  this big lens right here 50 megapixels that's an  

f 1.9 aperture and we do have an 8 megapixel ultra  wide and a 2 megapixel macro ouch yes 2 megapixels  

i really wish they'd put at least a five megapixel  macro or just give us an ultra wide that has focus  

then we wouldn't even need it we could just have  the two cameras on the rear but doing three things  

down below we have a loudspeaker our type c port  microphone and our sim tray takes two nano sims so  

no micro sd card support unfortunately and  then this is a port here for the earpiece  

loudspeaker so yes it does have dual speakers and  our mic later on i will give you a sample of how  

these speakers sound let me talk a little bit  more about the screen so 6.7 inches it responds  

to touch as i mentioned before really well and  the display brightness it does top out at just  

over 700 nits according to my meter that i have  here and you can make it out in direct sunlight so  

it won't top or beat the top-end flagship screens  it can get over a thousand nits like your samsung  

panels and your s22 ultras and things like that no  but i think for the price point it is excellent so  

under color mode we do have some options here  you've got pro mode cinematic and you've got  

brilliant you can adjust the white balance you've  got natural softer color display and again you can  

adjust that white balance and then vivid vivid's  the one by default and that is what i'll be using  

throughout this review here so you have your  other options here so you got bright hdr video  

eye comfort there is there too as well now  the refresh rate i often just keep this on  

auto select so it swaps between 60 and  120 i don't know if it uses 90 hertz  

and i would have preferred to have seen that  option in here too so you can force it on 120  

to make everything quick at the cost of the  battery but 90 is that sweet spot between  

the fluidity of 120 and then the battery saving of  60. so it's a shame that it isn't there now i'll  

just go into a couple of images right here just  to show you what the screen is all about i think  

it looks really good i think it is a fantastic  display and it just responds to touch really quick  

no problems and our rom optimization is excellent  so bringing down the toggles and notifications  

very quick the gestures do work well recent apps  is all very smooth very fast and the performance  

in general really good i've got no complaints the  animations are spot on i don't see any stutters  

any lag at all so it does run android 12.  it's real me ui version 3.0 it's basically  

color os is what it is but customized for real  me and we do have this option here so we've got  

what they call ram expansion now i wish they would  rename this to virtual memory because that's what  

it really is so it's basically just a caching  system to help speed things up a little bit  

dedicated by default is three gigabytes here now  i do have 12 gigabytes of ram you can even set up  

to seven if you wanted to which might aid in the  performance you give up on a bit of storage of  

course but for me it is very quick and really fast  just top notch performance here out of this rom  

now when you get hold of your nice brand new  shiny gt neo 3 and you first power it on you  

will be greeted with a few bloatware  applications so linkedin tick tock  

there's a couple others all right it's  not that bad at all it's very tame  

when it comes to bloatware this is certainly a  lot better than what i'm seeing in miui 13 which  

can sometimes have up to about 20 bloatware  applications around almost three gigabytes  

so that's great i hope that real me keeps  up with that that they just tone down and  

just try and use a minimal amount of bloatware so  charging time because it's 150 watts this version  

it's super quick i have not seen a phone that's  able to do these kind of speed so from 10 to 100  

in 14 minutes i've actually done it before in 13  and sometimes it's 15 or 16 depending on when you  

charge if it's a little bit lower down but really  that's just crazy crazy fast now ignore this that  

doesn't mean that we're losing out on battery  capacity it tends to be a little bit inaccurate  

and so that's just a gauge there on the battery  capacity that it's calculating it's only estimated  

there that's the antutu application antutu score  here it's actually very good so the demensity 8100  

i am impressed so far the way it is  i think the efficiency of it is great  

it feels very quick and snappy and really i  cannot complain about it at all just like the  

internal storage speeds here so ufs 3.1 take a  look at this random reason right both over 300  

really good and their sequential reads and  writes they're right up there so excellent  

performance there now it has full support here  for camera two api not unfortunately level three  

now being mediatek two you might have some issues  getting a gcam or open camera port to work and  

hopefully give you electronic image stabilization  with 4k video which the phone's currently lacking  

so the safety net status is a pass here which  is good does have nfc on board with this  

and we do have a wide vine level one cert now  netflix in full hd but amazon prime video no  

disney plus also in standard definition sadly  so hopefully that's going to change later on  

gps does work well you get an accuracy of one  meter now it was a very cloudy day in raining and  

my average signal strength was a little bit lower  as a result i do notice when it's a very clear day  

this will be in the 30s so they didn't see or did  should i say see a lot and locked onto 32 but it  

just looks like the amp's not seeing a mini there  now stability this is really a threatening test so  

the wildlife extreme 3d mark throttling  test shows the performance will drop down 20  

almost that is so much better than the snapdragon  gen 1 chips that normally drop down about 40  

almost in performance so for me this demensity  the 8100 is better actually long term than the  

snapdragon 810 one for gaming that is generates  less heat throttles less which is good so the  

battery life here this is a fixed test 200 nits  i calibrate the display and it goes down to 20  

battery gives me the result it went through it for  an amazing time here now i have to admit that i  

did have it set on the variable frame rate option  so the refresh rate sorry was between 16 100  

and 20 hertz so i didn't force it to 120  hertz now real life use is not going to be  

this good but you are looking at approximately  nine hours of screen on time which is great  

for a phone like this voice calls and our haptics  i wanted to talk about a little bit before i get  

onto audio so voice calls i haven't had any issues  i've called myself on the sim here and it sounds  

fine to me the audio quality i know in the past  a lot of people have been criticizing real me's  

call quality and i don't seem to have  an issue here at least with my network  

now we do have haptics that feel quite nice  and crisp when you type away with the on-screen  

keyboard i do like them i like what's coming out  of that vibration motor here with the gt neo three  

so audio wise no 3.5 millimeter headphone  jack so you have to use bluetooth something  

like these these are some new one more  evos i'm currently testing out and they  

are amazing review of those soon but here's  a sample of these loudspeakers at 100 volume  

gaming performance now i'm testing out  the dimension 8100 with a very stressful  

demanding game here yen chan impact now with  these snapdragon 8gen ones normally about now  

after playing i've only been playing about five  minutes the frame rate would be around the high  

40s to mid 40s on the top possible settings which  is what i'm running right here so that's going to  

stress it out quite a bit you go into graphics  and it's set to the highest preset it does stay  

custom there because i put it onto 60 frames  per second so i'm pushing it really hard here  

and so far faring really well i am impressed with  the mallee graphics that this has so it's the mali  

g610 and of course the demancity 8100 is a five  nanometer chip so see what happens now after a  

game for around one hour just how hard is it going  to get and will it start to throttle down like i  

saw with 3d mark okay this is just ridiculous i  am so shocked here it's not really getting that  

warm it's getting slightly warm to the touch and  that is and it seems to have just plateaued so  

i did end up putting it into the performance  mode see if i can get it a little bit hotter  

and it's warming up slightly but if you keep it  in the balance mode i'm seriously impressed with  

this demensity 8100 it's just not heating up it's  so much cooler than the snapdragon counterparts  

they're going to be really hot but let's have a  look at the thermals because i've been playing  

now for about 40 minutes and it's just not getting  any warmer so there's no point me continuing there  

the frame rate still is very steady on the  top settings around 60 frames per second  

hang on i've got to kill this enemy  here let's get them out of the way  

so the screen here is heating up to about 40  degrees now that's normal and that's actually  

really low because the again the snapdragons  would be up around 50 degrees some of them  

and on the back here look at this that's around  where the camera module is where i feel most  

of the heat 30 degrees that's it so it's the  front of it that's getting up to about 40 41  

that's really it i'm not seeing any higher  than that seriously impressive thermals here  

well done with the cooling realme and well done  mediatek with this amazing dementia d8100 chip  

and the front-facing 16 megapixel camera does  have electronic image stabilization the exposure  

doesn't seem to be too bad considering i'm wearing  a white shirt here which can be a problem for  

some of these phones they tend to over expose  scenes so it's good that we have the electronic  

image stabilization here but no 4k with a  front-facing camera and it would probably be  

4k without electronic image stabilization moving  over to our video now with the gt neo 3 so we do  

have 4k with the main 50 megapixel camera with its  optical image stabilization but as you can see it  

does not have electronic image stabilization which  is really odd now we've already had a couple of  

patches come through so it seems that for some  weird reason real me doesn't want to give this  

electronic image stabilization maybe they don't  want it to compete with the gt2 and the gt2 pro  

so the ultra wide compared to that main camera  does have electronic image stabilization but  

it looks very washed out lacking details the  8 megapixel sensor here really is struggling  

to capture detail now it's only 1080p no 4k with  this camera the sensor just does not support it  

so

so you just saw what the weaknesses of the gt neo  3 that is the cameras main camera is good it has  

optical image stabilization but no 4k electronic  image stabilization and then the ultra wide  

performance is poor it's not great and especially  at video only 1080p video that looks washed out it  

looks a little bit over processed over sharpened  i don't like it the audio quality there's room for  

improvement as well now the audio bit rate isn't  96 kilobits per second like we see on other brands  

it's 156 but they could up it they could certainly  tweak that audio to sound a bit better with video  

so there's so many things that i'm really  impressed about with this phone charge speed  

wow okay 15 minutes to fully charge it but the  real thing that impresses me is the performance  

of that media tech the demensity 8100 this is my  first time testing it out and i'm blown away by  

the thermals and the sustained performance so play  a demanding game like i did gentian impact you get  

frame rates that better all of the snapdragon 8  gen 1 phones that are passively cooled there are  

phones like the red magic 7 and the red magic 7  pro that i've reviewed with fans in them they can  

get 60 frames per second the whole time but you've  got a noisy fan in there but this barely heats up  

40 degrees after playing a demanding game like  that's amazing i am absolutely well stunned that  

it can do it it just shows me how bad really the  qualcomm chips are just turn that screen back on  

the qualcomm chips they overheat they're too  hot they're overpriced they kind of sound like  

intel media text like amd well to me at least i'm  sounding like in a mediatek shell here but trust  

me i'm not i'm not being paid or anything like  that i'm just happy to see that such a competitive  

chip's coming through finally the screen 120 hertz  great ui performance no lag no real bloatware no  

problems with animation stutters and i can't say  that about other brands it simply is a solid great  

offering from realme just improve those cameras  and they have an all-round monster of a phone
