  • 00:04

Welcome to the official unofficial beginner's guide to Entry Point.

  • 00:08

If you're a new player or you're struggling with the game or even if you're never played

  • 00:12

Entry Point before, this video is the fastest way to learn the basics.

  • 00:18

It's one thing to watch a playthrough and copy what someone is doing, but it's another

  • 00:22

    to understand the mechanics yourself.

  • 00:25

Obviously this video isn't intended for everyone, but if you already know the basics, then try

  • 00:30

to find the hidden memes and references in this video.

  • 00:34

    Anyway, let's get started.

  • 00:36

When you're creating your first character, you have to choose a class.

  • 00:39

Each class has its pros and cons, but overall, the Thief is the best class for starting out,

  • 00:45

so this guide will assume you're using a Thief-based character.

  • 00:49

After you create your first character, the game will send you to the tutorial.

  • 00:53

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the tutorial, which is actually why I'm making this video.

  • 00:58

If you want to play it, then you can, but feel free to skip it and watch this video

  • 01:03

    instead.

  • 01:04

Once you're done watching the cutscenes and creating your character, you're sent to the

  • 01:08

    main lobby.

  • 01:09

Go to the Missions tab and select the Deposit.

  • 01:12

Create a lobby, set the lobby size to 1, and start the game.

  • 01:16

This is the first mission you should attempt.

  • 01:18

If you can beat it, then you're already better than most Entry Point players, but first,

  • 01:22

there's several concepts you should understand.

  • 01:24

    First, there's two different gamemodes.

  • 01:26

In the stealth gamemode, you have to infiltrate the map and complete objectives without being

  • 01:31

detected, while in the loud gamemode, you will be detected and you'll have to fight

  • 01:36

    enemies as you complete objectives.

  • 01:38

This guide will focus on stealth, which is Plan A. You should always decide on a plan

  • 01:43

    before starting the mission.

  • 01:46

If you decide on stealth, then you need a stealth character and a stealth loadout.

  • 01:50

Anyway, let's get started on loadouts.

  • 01:52

When you're choosing a primary gun, an example of what not to bring would be a 480 MCS.

  • 01:58

That's because this gun is visible and unsuppressed.

  • 02:02

Visible means that NPCs will detect your gun even while you're not using it, which is horrible

  • 02:06

in stealth, and unsuppressed means that firing the gun will alert the whole map.

  • 02:12

In stealth, all you need is a gun that's concealed, meaning it's not visible unless you're using

  • 02:17

it, and suppressed, which means that firing it won't alert the whole map.

  • 02:22

You don't need a powerful gun like a rifle or a sniper for stealth.

  • 02:26

I would suggest always bringing a stock UP9.

  • 02:29

It may not say it's suppressed, but it is.

  • 02:32

You don't need a secondary weapon, you don't need armor, and concealed items aren't unlocked

  • 02:37

    yet.

  • 02:38

Anyway, let's get into the loadout.

  • 02:40

The items with a red X are never useful in stealth.

  • 02:44

The remaining items can be useful in stealth, but not every item is useful in every mission.

  • 02:50

Also, the items with a yellow X can't be used yet because they require certain perks to

  • 02:56

    unlock.

  • 02:57

For this mission, select a lockpick and a silent drill.

  • 03:00

    Anyway, let's start the game.

  • 03:02

In order to do anything, you need to know the controls.

  • 03:05

It might take some practice to memorize all of them, but you can always hold the tab key

  • 03:09

to see the list of controls.

  • 03:12

Press I to see your inventory.

  • 03:15

The two items you brought only occupy six inventory spaces, meaning they fit in your

  • 03:20

    normal inventory.

  • 03:22

The equipment bag serves as extra storage, but in this case, you don't need it, so exit

  • 03:28

out of the inventory and press G to drop your bag.

  • 03:32

If you try to go too far into the bank, you'll notice a white text that says "trespassing."

  • 03:37

This is called the player status, and it controls how NPCs perceive you.

  • 03:42

If you're seen trespassing, then you have a short amount of time to get out before the

  • 03:47

    NPCs get alarmed.

  • 03:49

If there is no text, then you're considered a normal civilian and you won't be detected

  • 03:54

    at all.

  • 03:55

If the text is red, then you'll be detected very quickly.

  • 03:59

This is usually due to having a visible weapon or performing a suspicious interaction.

  • 04:05

If you have a disguise, then by default you get the disguised status.

  • 04:09

Some NPCs will detect you slowly while others won't detect you at all.

  • 04:14

Having a disguise also allows you to enter most areas without being considered trespassing.

  • 04:20

Now it's time for the first step in most stealth missions: getting a disguise.

  • 04:25

Go to the back area, go down the stairs, and hold F to disable this camera.

  • 04:30

Disabling a camera means that it can't detect you anymore.

  • 04:33

However, the camera operator will notice that the camera stopped working and send a guard

  • 04:38

    to investigate.

  • 04:39

This is known as a camera lure, and it's a great way of isolating and taking out guards.

  • 04:45

Once the guard arrives, use your gun and immediately right click to aim down sights.

  • 04:50

This gives you the "intimidating" status, which intimidates NPCs you point your gun

  • 04:54

    at in close range.

  • 04:56

Once an NPC is taken hostage, you can press F while looking at them and then move to make

  • 05:01

them follow you, or press F while standing still to make them get down.

  • 05:06

You can also interrogate some NPCs by holding G, but this isn't the case right now.

  • 05:12

Press V to knock out the guard, and then hold G to take their disguise.

  • 05:17

Normally, leaving bodies on the floor is a bad idea, but no one naturally goes to this

  • 05:22

area, so hiding the body isn't necessary.

  • 05:26

Before we actually find an Entry Point, I need to explain one more thing.

  • 05:30

When an NPC is detecting you, you'll see this thing called the suspicion meter fill up.

  • 05:35

When it reaches one bar, the NPC will temporarily stop and look at you.

  • 05:40

If it reaches two bars, then the NPC will walk over to your location.

  • 05:45

And if it fills up completely, the NPC will be alerted and try to set off the alarms.

  • 05:50

You don't want this to happen, so whenever you're being detected, you should get out

  • 05:54

of the NPC's line of sight to make the suspicion meter disappears.

  • 05:59

Cameras also have a suspicion meter, which is very similar.

  • 06:02

If you're disguised, then you have to be facing forward to be detected.

  • 06:07

The main difference is that getting a camera's suspicion meter to 1 bar will lure a guard

  • 06:11

    to its location.

  • 06:13

However, it's not just the player that's detectable.

  • 06:17

NPCs and cameras will also detect things like bodies, hostages, broken doors, broken windows,

  • 06:23

    broken cameras, and suspicious items.

  • 06:26

Anyway, it's time to go in.

  • 06:28

You can create an Entry Point by shooting this window.

  • 06:31

The broken window is suspicious, and you don't want anyone to see it.

  • 06:35

Fortunately, there's only 2 guards in the basement, and one of them is stuck in the

  • 06:39

    camera operator's room.

  • 06:41

If you take both of them out, then the basement will be clear.

  • 06:45

Taking out the normal guard first is risky because the camera operator might see the

  • 06:49

body through the cameras, so you should take out the operator first.

  • 06:54

You don't have a keycard, so you have to drill this door.

  • 06:57

Once it's open, the lock will be broken, meaning you can't close the door.

  • 07:02

Broken doors are suspicious, but this won't matter once the basement is clear.

  • 07:07

Take out the camera operator, and then find the other guard and take them out.

  • 07:11

Sometimes the other guard will notice you drilling, in which case, you should take them

  • 07:14

    out and continue drilling.

  • 07:16

Also, guards have a small chance of dropping a keycard, which is a faster way to open this

  • 07:22

    door.

  • 07:23

Go back to this room and drop your silent drill, since you won't be needing it for a

  • 07:27

    while.

  • 07:28

Also, grab this keycard if you don't have one already.

  • 07:31

Now that this operator is down, the basement cameras are disabled, but you'll have to take

  • 07:36

out the top floor operator to disable the rest of the cameras.

  • 07:40

Go to the top floor and use your keycard to unlock the door.

  • 07:43

You're considered trespassing in this room, so close the door as soon as you enter.

  • 07:48

Then, quickly hostage and take out the camera operator.

  • 07:51

Hold F to bag their body and drop it in this corner, so it's not visible when opening the

  • 07:57

    door.

  • 07:58

Now that the cameras are down, it's time to complete the objectives.

  • 08:02

Intimidating the manager will make them drop the vault keycard, while interrogating them

  • 08:07

will give you the vault code.

  • 08:09

However, you can't just do this out in the open or else other people will notice.

  • 08:14

Instead, you should lure them to a spot that can't be seen by other NPCs.

  • 08:20

There isn't just one safe spot, but this is a good example.

  • 08:25

Walk up to the manager and let their suspicion meter fill up two bars.

  • 08:29

Then, step back to the spot you want to lure them to, and quickly hide behind cover before

  • 08:35

the suspicion meter fills up entirely.

  • 08:38

This spot is out of view, so you can safely hostage the manager, interrogate them for

  • 08:43

the code, take the keycard, and knock them out.

  • 08:46

You can also bag the body and hide it in the camera operator's room.

  • 08:51

Next you need the box ID and the blueprints.

  • 08:55

Use the lockpick to break into archives.

  • 08:57

Every time you search a shelf, there's a random chance of getting the box ID, so keep searching

  • 09:02

    until you find it.

  • 09:04

Then, search through the remaining shelves until you find the blueprints.

  • 09:08

Note that you are considered trespassing in this room, so if anyone notices you, you'll

  • 09:13

have to exit the room and wait for the person to leave before you keep going.

  • 09:18

Once you're done, go to the basement and open the vault.

  • 09:21

Opening the vault will sometimes lure a guard to the basement, so wait outside the basement

  • 09:26

    entrance for about 20 seconds.

  • 09:29

If a guard arrives, then knock them out.

  • 09:31

If not, then return to the basement.

  • 09:34

The vault has heat sensors, meaning that entering would instantly trigger the alarm.

  • 09:38

To disable the vault sensors, go to this room, grab the silent drill, and drill the sensors.

  • 09:45

Now, you can finally go inside and lockpick the box with the correct ID.

  • 09:50

Then, drop the silent drill and grab the Phoenix Box.

  • 09:54

If you want, you can also bag the cash for extra money.

  • 09:58

Note that certain actions, such as sprinting, proning, or carrying bags give you the Conspicuous

  • 10:03

status, which is the same as Disguised except you're detected a bit faster, so be careful.

  • 10:10

Exit the building, walk back to the parking garage, and that's it.

  • 10:15

Completing a mission will reward you with money and experience.

  • 10:19

Go back to the lobby and click on skills.

  • 10:22

This is the default perk for the Thief, and every time you level up, you're able to take

  • 10:26

    more perks.

  • 10:27

Since this is a stealth character, you want to avoid loud perks, which are generally toward

  • 10:32

the top left part of the skill tree.

  • 10:35

The first important perk you should get is Prodigy, which is the Hacker class's default

  • 10:39

    perk.

  • 10:40

This makes your character a hybrid class called the Infiltrator, which has a lot of benefits.

  • 10:45

In the Deposit, you can use a keycard scrambler to gain a much cleaner entry point without

  • 10:51

    having to break anything.

  • 10:53

Hacking this computer gives you the vault code, so you don't have to interrogate the

  • 10:56

manager, and hacking the computer in Maddox Grey's office gives you the box ID.

  • 11:02

The Interference perk is also really good.

  • 11:05

It allows you to disable dome cameras and loop bullet cameras.

  • 11:09

A looped camera is similar to a disabled one except no one is lured and the operator doesn't

  • 11:16

    notice.

  • 11:17

This is useful because there's a limit to how many cameras you can disable before the

  • 11:24

    camera operator gets alerted.

  • 11:25

The Explosive Entry perk is also useful for this mission.

  • 11:27

You can bring a breaching charge and place it on the transformer.

  • 11:30

Then, when it's time to enter the vault, you can activate the breaching charge to temporarily

  • 11:34

disable the vault sensors, so you won't need to drill them.

  • 11:38

Doing this starts a timer, and you have to exit the vault with the Phoenix box before

  • 11:43

    the timer runs out.

  • 11:45

I won't go over every single stealth perk, but on your screen are the most important

  • 11:50

    ones.

  • 11:51

As you complete missions and level up, focus on getting the major perks first and then

  • 11:55

try to get the remaining minor perks.

  • 11:58

Anyway, if you're new to Entry Point, then I hope this video gave you a solid understanding

  • 12:03

    of the basics.

  • 12:04

Obviously there's a lot more to the game, so I put some useful Wiki articles in the

  • 12:09

    description.

  • 12:10

Also, if you want gameplay tips and help from professional players, or if you just want

  • 12:14

a place to hang out and discuss anything, then you should consider joining my Discord

  • 12:19

    server.

  • 12:20

It's the overall best EP server and I'm also really active on it.

  • 12:25

Anyway, I'll see you guys next time.
