  • 00:00

    Secret tunnel!

  • 00:09

Okey-dokey, part 6 of the shhh! secret tunnel! So yes I am digging a tunnel from my shed

  • 00:26

here along to my house, which is just over there and eventually into the bunker, which

  • 00:31

is at the bottom of my garden. Now in the last video we got to about this little blue

  • 00:34

line here, but we worked out how we could push holes up to the surface for ventilation

  • 00:38

and pouring the concrete down. Now in this video I want to come all the way along here

  • 00:42

and then we need to work out when we're going to turn left to come under the house and up

  • 00:47

into the pantry. That's where it's connected to in my wonderful cupboard of luxury items!

  • 00:54

So before we do this we need to put another hole up, which I think we're going to use

  • 00:57

to kind of coordinate where we are exactly in the yard,

  • 01:01

map it all out, plan it all out. So we can do it, come up in the right place. It'll all

  • 01:05

be good. Now this video is sponsored by free trade. More about them at the appropriate

  • 01:09

time in the video but for now let's go do a little bit more chimbling.

  • 01:18

Oh no! Thats a bit of my house. That's nearly the bottom of

  • 01:54

    the bloody concrete.

  • 01:55

Got our ceiling supported, now we need to find out exactly where we are before we start

  • 02:00

turning left to go into the house, we need to know when we need to turn left and also

  • 02:05

we need to know the center of that piece of tunnel, so when we come up under the house

  • 02:10

it is up in the right place and you end up going down you know to the center of the uh,

  • 02:15

of the tunnel and not all wonky and all that stuff. So what we're gonna do, we're gonna

  • 02:18

drop a bit of box section down, clamp another bit of box section to the side of it down

  • 02:23

here and the side of it at the top so it mirrors the straight line. So if we lay in a straight

  • 02:28

line down here it should be in a straight line up there and we can see exactly where

  • 02:32

we are and where we're going and how far across, up, down, whatever we need to be. That's how

  • 02:59

    we're doing it.

  • 03:22

so using our pole as a reference, we've marked out exactly where we need to be. That is the

  • 03:30

edge of our floorboards downstairs, so we can take all our measurements from that and

  • 03:35

know that we're going in roughly the right direction.

  • 03:51

Right we know where we are now, we've got it all marked up we can see where we're going

  • 03:55

we just need to dig a little bit. Not in these clothes!

  • 04:01

Now we just noticed one of the bucket handles, is about to snap! But they're all done really

  • 04:14

well because these are the original ones from when we first started digging it.

  • 04:24

OK, so we're going to stick a beam down here, and then that is the edge of this part and

  • 04:36

then it needs to start going that way. Before we do that, we're going to dig a lot more

  • 04:41

further in that direction, but of course if we carry on at that height when we go to go

  • 04:46

that way, that'll be too low. So we're going to go up a bit and then across to support

  • 04:51

this part of the ceiling. If that doesn't make any sense, I'll do it and then you can

  • 04:55

look at it and go, 'oh that's what he meant!'

  • 05:01

Does it make sense now? It's got to go up, across and then there'll be a curve over there,

  • 05:07

no? oh well! Just just keep watching five or six minutes, It'll all make sense.

  • 05:16

Oh!! You've got a lot of tidying up to do here Furze! You've got a lot of tidying up!

  • 05:42

If there is ever a project that deserves a subscription, or a like, it's

  • 05:57

this one! How many Youtuber's do this?

  • 06:01

    Chisel's nearly snapped!

  • 06:04

    There we are, oh!

  • 06:06

It just fell over! Couldn't stop it! I think we'll just have to leave it on the floor because

  • 06:18

that's the biggest singular rock we've had out of this thing. There we are i fixed the

  • 06:22

uh, the pin on the end of the thing straightened it up with a hydraulic press again, and uh

  • 06:28

on with tunnelling! I think you're staying there!

  • 06:34

So after struggling with the weight of that rock I've been kind of thinking, like how

  • 06:37

much weight are we taking out? So I'm gonna weigh a bucket.

  • 06:45

48 kilo, so that means based on the average that we do a day we take between three and

  • 06:53

three and a half ton out of rubble a day, that is crazy!

  • 06:58

So it's all dug! It's all supported. Next up, we're going to drill another two holes,

  • 07:06

or another hole definitely, up to the surface. We've obviously got the one here in the far

  • 07:10

corner that will fill all that side up with concrete, so it all moves forward. Very nice!

  • 07:14

We won't have any air pockets or anything. I want another one, here basically to go up

  • 07:20

there, to kind of make sure that this corner definitely gets everything. Now the only thing

  • 07:23

we need to worry about is on the back of my garage, there used to be an outside toilet,

  • 07:27

which I took down, so there is a sewer pipe and the mains water pipe running under there,

  • 07:31

so we just want to come this side of that, so we don't end up puncturing that and then

  • 07:36

over here at some point we've got the gas main to worry about. But that's for another

  • 07:39

day. So, let's put another hole up at least, and

  • 07:42

then we've basically got to build all this tunnel bit, steel. Get it all steeled up,

  • 07:46

get it concreted up and safe, then we can start going towards the house. I just like,

  • 07:51

I like standing back here and doing this shot, because it just looks, especially with the

  • 07:55

    fisheye lens, just looks wicked!

  • 07:56

I guess, we want to be about there.

  • 08:23

Hole number two. Right let's get some steel in there, oh it's lovely! OK, that's got the

  • 08:45

floor plates down. Next up we're going to drop a bar down our new hole, get it all angled

  • 08:50

up with where it needs to go towards the house. So we can get a center of this bit, going

  • 08:54

off here, because it's not only going off at a funny angle, because it's not at right

  • 08:57

angles of this it's right over to the house, which it's a slight a slight scunt to this.

  • 09:01

So we need to get the dead center, so we know how far to bring that wall. Where this one

  • 09:05

needs to stop and cut round and all that technical stuff, that if we get wrong, we'll end up

  • 09:10

coming up in the pantry a bit wonky and that's no good! Right got it all marked out, so basically

  • 09:39

there's some lines you can't see obviously on this camera. So we've got our angle, it's

  • 09:43

set uh, it goes off at a seven degree angle, or an 83 degree whichever way you look at

  • 09:47

it. I was going to do the end of this bit of tunnel at right angles and then go off

  • 09:51

at an angle, but I think that's going to make the roof and there's going to be too many

  • 09:54

wiggly bits. Come off 7 degree, 80 up there somewhere,

  • 10:00

and if we get it wrong and end up in the middle of the kitchen, you can rewind to this part

  • 10:04

of the video and say, 'that, that was when the mistake was made!' Righty ho, wall up,

  • 10:19

next bit is this end wall. Now, I'm going to stick a little recess window, a little

  • 10:23

bit like I did with the pump down the other end. So I've been on the laser cutter, laser

  • 10:27

cut myself a profile of which I can plasma cut around, so I've just got to work out exactly

  • 10:31

where it is and shove it in, because we just had so much space. Basically the wall is going

  • 10:36

to go here. There's like another 500 mm, So rather than just filling that all up with

  • 10:40

concrete, let's make use of it. Yes, oh it's not just going to be a tunnel you know, it's

  • 10:44

going to be a utility tunnel!

  • 10:50

Like a little seat look, ideal for sitting here in my new Furze branded shirt, whilst

  • 11:11

considering the dates in the 2022 Furze calendar. Yeah or having a drink from the Furze drinks

  • 11:16

bottle! Right, that's got these up. Now the other wall which I've put up, there's quite

  • 11:20

a lot of space behind it still and rather than doing this again I've decided to put

  • 11:24

a little game in of plinky plonk. Basically a series of pipes welded up, fit to the back,

  • 11:28

put a ball in the top... which one's it going to come out?

  • 11:32

Right that's got the old pinky plonk in, next we need to work out how to do this funny roof

  • 11:43

    junctiony thingy.

  • 11:46

We're gonna whack it up, stick a laser level line across, draw it, take it away, cut it,

  • 11:53

put the other bit across, laser, mark it, cut it, hopefully put them back on and they'll

  • 12:14

    meet up.

  • 12:29

This is the other side we cut off.

  • 12:50

Right that's got ourselves a corner, quite impressed with that it's done, done it all  right

  • 12:54

    I think.

  • 12:55

Now then, we've got a load of mesh, which kind of makes like a boundary for the concrete,

  • 12:58

so when we pour it down it doesn't all just bellow out the side, which of course is slightly

  • 13:01

trickier now, because we're on like a funny, we're on a corner basically, not just a flat

  • 13:05

end. So right let's get some concrete down and then we just got to finish the floor off

  • 13:09

and then that's that bit kind of done, and then before we start digging that way, I have

  • 13:13

    another little idea.

  • 13:17

It's running! So to help with getting the concrete along, I've made this little rubber

  • 13:25

thing at the end and we can...

  • 13:28

helps it go along, because a lot of you did suggest we should have had a vibrator last

  • 13:36

time! Uh, we didn't, but we've got one now!

  • 13:54

OK, concrete's going off, boom! Nice and solid. So this is my thinking, this tunnel is now

  • 14:14

quite long and all the digging we do here, we're going to load the buckets up, we've

  • 14:18

now got to drag them all the way along, down there to winch them out, and that's quite

  • 14:22

a long distance now. So I'm thinking we need to make a Minecart system.

  • 14:47

OK, we have a minecart, it's got a little light, make it look a bit more minecart-esque.

  • 15:12

Now it's only got two sides because we don't want to be lifting the tubs over the top of

  • 15:17

this. That's harder work, and I was going to make like a fake side that you could just

  • 15:20

slot in, but I thought just wasting my blooming time here, it's never going to be on. So,

  • 15:26

basically got some rails, which I've been knocking up down there, two bits of 20mm box

  • 15:29

section with just some bits of flat to hold them at the right distance. uh we're not going

  • 15:33

to screw them to the floor, I'm just going to lay it on, because we might want to move

  • 15:36

this. Right let's go and give it a test. We've got a minecart!

  • 15:42

Right I like you, so I'll need to test you out, flip you around, do a bit of digging,

  • 15:52

see if you are actually going to help us. But oh before that the predict- a- ball.

  • 15:56

I've got little signs added now. So then should you all subscribe to the Colin Furze Youtube

  • 16:01

    channel?

  • 16:02

    Oh yeah! oh yeah!

  • 16:25

This works so well you can even do it at night with a light on the front.

  • 16:31

It definitely feels more Great Escape now we've got this.

  • 16:34

OK mine carts they get thumbs up, you can see what adam in minds now obviously done

  • 16:40

a bit more digging. We've had a bit of a measure up, I'd say we're about a foot 30 centimeters

  • 16:45

away from the line of the house, so very soon we're potentially going to reveal the house

  • 16:49

foundations, depending on how deep they go of course. Now next tunnel video we are connecting

  • 16:54

this thing to the house hopefully, but it's not going to stop there. We've got the bunker

  • 16:58

to connect to in the back garden and also I'm thinking about doing something in this

  • 17:02

direction as well towards the front of the house. Anyway hope you enjoyed this video.
