about spyderco's. We're talking blade sizes you look at those two next to each

others not a ton of blade to this guy. I can get your same boat okay I go say a

spy. What is up guys? Today at blade HQ on Knife Banter what are we doing Austin?

Well first of all we're back we're back with another knife banter. That's right it

was a one-week break over back let's um let's start by talking about our

beautiful play button here! Hey boy mom yes what does it mean

more excited I think we've been running the tail for about five years now. Slow

Thank you. Now what is the real topic for the day Austin? Today we're talking about

Spyderco's and I love it yeah more specifically what the company the people

who work here what their favorite Spyderco's are. So what was their methodology on

this one? Sure so I basically just took a little pull of most of the employees

they weren't all here that day but we got most of them and yes we just went

with the top five top six picks seven so we carry a lot of Spyderco's here we

do and as US employees personal yeah we love we love them here and it for good

reason. Okay so what was the number one in the house? I mean probably the easiest

guess the paramilitary 2. We've talked a lot about this or is it over the latter

you must yes but how could I mean you there's nothing bad to say about it it's

true yeah it's just a great knife. Kind of kind of what everyone can well a

lot of people consider the perfect EDC blade so a lot of guys carry that one

and a lot of guys are currently carrying oh yes it's a little brother little

brother yeah the para 3. Yep so both the exact same knife we talked

about them previously as far as size goes other than size they're nearly

identical. Yeah absolutely the same blade style compression lock. G10 I mean great

knives yep very similar solid blade yep now I want to know what is in your

pocket today Austin? Look let's go with my pick this was actually my take this is

okay okay okay we plan to look at that we full time I'm delica prior to both of

us working here yeah we we owned about it guys any exact same blue yeah I have

a have a thing for this blue yes that I can't deny know if this is like this

probably might save one of my favorite knife yes yeah it's perfect it's

lightweight it's strong I like the portable full flat grind on it yeah and

that eat something Spyderco does look great a lot makes it a great slicer and

just a great knife. Easy to sharpen. How much is the delica? Good question 70 bucks

should we levy eight the $68.97 currently on Bladehq.com. Yep

that's why I bought it originally I am a cheapskate cheap sucker. True!

So I said what is a good Spyderco that yeah it's not going to break the

bank? Yeah and for me this is the only knife I

own two of. Really? Oh I'll do what yeah I've got a Karambit ring on my other one

but it's the emerson opener with the emerson opens the what is wise wise men

went wisemen company cranberry cranberry aftermarket accessory yep and it's got

it's got blue as well it's like a gray blue but yes yeah I like that one. The

only knife are you own two of? Yeah isn't that industrial I know I love out I love

my delica. That's awesome yeah okay so a lot of folks here on delica's. The other

one I see a lot of is the Sage. Yes in fact our marketing nope our product

manager has carried a sage for a lot of years yes in fact the sage 1. Yeah he

has a thing for carbon fiber interesting and this is a the overlay g10 carbon

fiber on there so you know but the sage series is great you've got a lot of

different color options a lot of variety and each model stage one two three four

and five has a different lock type yeah no that's definitely true and I think

something else interesting is that the product manager before him this was also

the favorite pick. Really so the last two product managers we've had both of

their pick was beside the sage so - it's a good knife. Yes it's hard I like the new stage

five would see it's got this basically same knife but with the compression lock

washing mark right yeah very nice and this one from Taichung I believe tied on

with s30v right 30b and I've done then like non-scratch pocket I'll try to

guess on the price oh I have no idea my guess 130 ish close $130.96. Outkast not

better yeah not bad not bad okay so the other one that our chief

creative officer carries frequently and he's tried to talk me into it for a long

time I haven't been talked in yet okay Mannix 2.

And why why haven't you bought it yet yet I'm gonna say yeah okay

the difference between these two others in the Loctite muscles bigger I don't

see that much benefit to Maddox - for me /

okay longer blade yep BT one on this one I'm not in love with the ball bearing

luck okay III I think it's fine yeah but it's not my favorite okay

then it's just a little bit bigger I'm talking I mean you look at the the

profile between those two it's definitely a large knife yeah well one

thing that is great about the Manics though is it comes in a ton of different

variety it does yeah lots of different blade stills lots of different colors

it's that's a that's a really great necklace you can get a détente handle on

it yep there is a gray Maximus currently yep so you got a lot of

options yeah with the manikanta lutely it's a

nice nice yeah I can see my jig like yeah but at the same time it's just big

it's a big night yeah I think it's a large knife but it's super light it is

very light it is yeah and we had a couple people mention that one as well

okay yeah absolutely okay the next one is my

Western your pick right written yeah okay I get to be on the show and so I

get to Kelly so now you know you get to be on the show yeah that makes me be so

this is the Dragonfly yeah and it is in each one

yeah now the thing I like about the Dragonfly we're talking blade sizes you

look at those two next to each other yeah not a ton of blade to this guy in

Kahala ground but that h1 steel is completely waterproof rust proof amazing

yeah I could be an evangelist for h1 steel seriously I know like I have taken

this on trips I've taken it on vacations in the water for a week yeah and it

doesn't rust yeah the other day I think we have spend what his favorite knife is

period that he owns and you said it might be this because of the steel he is

such a fan I am I am because I don't have to stress about yeah I think is

what you said his magic magic beautiful meadow and it holds an edge well okay

well that's good um so I don't own a dragonfly but I think they're super

great and I like that the top is kind of rounded here it's not as sharp but you

would see on the delica or something like that I think that's great and yeah

it's a great size kinda nice I like it I like the fingers with you because it is

kinda you know go film it yep and again another one that comes in a different a

bunch of different colors and blades feels so and this one's definitely your

your salt series one a lot of different variety and style

backs ya know Wow god oh god Wow God another wild cook actually I

pulled this one because our CEO carried this one for probably like three years

when true story I shouldn't know that true story okay he was not much of a

nice guy for a few years Wow he now carries a ZTE 450 and carbon

fiber yeah but he had this one on his keys forever he may still do but just a

little bug I had no idea um one of our photographers actually

carries the bug and swears by it she always has it on a keychain as well so

tiny and it costs what 11 95 or sometimes so affordable so affordable

yeah yeah that's a great little great little match okay and now the part

everyone's been waiting for is they want to see your spider collection this is my

half of it on the table so I've got the two delicates and then I think everyone

knows yeah I have a paramilitary to the Jade luteum force do that's right and

then by the way this one's coming out in a military version that's right very

soon pretty soon so yeah keep an out for that Center for the week

the box it is like nice its intimidation out there oh yeah absolutely
